The tally is in: Domtar presents a Child's Place with the proceeds from the 2013 Domtar Charity Golf Event!
CHARLOTTE, NC, Dec. 20, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Domtar Corporation today announced that its 2013 Vendor Partnership Meeting and Charity Golf Event yielded support for $125,895 that will go to A Child's Place (www.achildsplace.org), a Charlotte non-profit with a mission to erase the impact of homelessness on children and their education. This contribution will help make a difference in the lives of the more than 2,600 homeless children in Mecklenburg County the agency serves each year.
"I want to extend a huge thank you to our valued vendor partners for making the October 25th charity event such a success," noted Domtar President and CEO John D. Williams. "The mission and values of A Child's Place align closely with Domtar's community investment focus on education, so it was an easy decision to choose them as this year's recipient organization for our vendor partnership fundraising efforts, in support of their important work with children-in-need in the greater Charlotte area."
According to Annabelle Suddreth, Executive Director of A Child's Place, "We are so grateful for the support Domtar and its vendors have provided our client children through this event. They were great fun to work with and their philanthropy has made a huge impact."
