TELUS volunteers nationwide reach out to give where they live
VANCOUVER, May 28 /CNW/ - On Saturday, May 29, the fifth annual TELUS Day of Service will take place across Canada. On this one special day, TELUS team members and retirees will mobilize in a massive nationwide volunteer effort to make positive, heartfelt and lasting connections within their communities. Ten thousand TELUS volunteers, friends and family from coast to coast are coming together to give and support the communities where they live, work and serve. TELUS Day of Service is part of TELUS' overall commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in which we strive to engrain the triple bottom line of sound economic, social and environmental sustainability practices into all aspects of our business.
"By pooling our collective energies on this one special day, thousands of TELUS team members and their families, retirees, and TELUS Community Ambassadors will make a remarkable difference in the lives of Canadians," said Darren Entwistle, TELUS President and CEO. "TELUS Day of Service is our opportunity to lead with our hearts and our hands to share our passion for making our communities stronger and healthier for us all."
TELUS has a proud history of giving where we live. TELUS, our team members and retirees have contributed $158 million to charitable and not-for-profit organizations and volunteered 3.1 million hours of service to local communities since 2000.

TELUS team members will also participate in the annual TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes in support of our partnership with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
Two hundred activities will be held in communities across Canada from coast to coast including locations such as Victoria, Vancouver, Prince George, Kamloops, Kelowna, Calgary, Lethbridge, Red Deer, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Toronto, Barrie, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Rimouski and Halifax.
