The Toronto Region Board of Trade Recognizes Centerplate Canada with Local Economic Impact Award
TORONTO, Dec. 5, 2013 /CNW/ - The Toronto Region Board of Trade has announced the winners of its 2013 Business Excellence Awards, honouring local businesses and entrepreneurial talent in the region. This year, Centerplate Canada was recognized with the Local Economic Impact Award, given to a business that has had significant impact on the Toronto region's economy.
Centerplate Canada was publicly cited for creating more than 300 new jobs while also increasing the focus on regional partnerships by adding 80 small and medium sized local businesses to its supply chain. Additionally, Centerplate Canada developed a "Streets of Toronto" menu strategy for events greeting hundreds of thousands of guests annually, which highlights ethnic dishes reflective of the over 90 different ethnic neighborhoods in the city of Toronto.

The 2013 awards were presented at the annual Awards Gala, held November 21 in Toronto .
