The Video Game Community Unites at Red Bull AdrenaLAN presented by Bell in Toronto for a Weekend-Long LAN Celebration
Attendees will partake in an inclusive gaming experience, bringing together local gamers and notable esports pros for this multi-title event
MISSISSAUGA, ON, July 24, 2018 /CNW/ - Red Bull AdrenaLAN presented by Bell is Canada's premiere LAN party, taking place from Friday, July 27 - Sunday, July 29 at The International Centre in Mississauga, ON just outside of Toronto. Some of the most notable names in professional esports from around the world will gather to connect with Toronto's immersive video game community, including: professional Dota 2 teams, Europe's Red Bull OG and North America's Immortals, who will go head-to-head in a mainstage show match that will be commentated by Moonduck TV. Canada's own, Sasha "Scarlett" Hostyn will take on Poland's Artur "Nerchio" Bloch in a Starcraft II show match. Both show matches will take place on Saturday, July 28 and broadcast live on Moonduck TV's channel (Dota 2) and Scarlett's channel (Starcraft II), respectively.
There will also be a variety of community tournaments for Dota 2, Dragon Ball FighterZ and FIFA where top players will earn the chance to go head-to-head with Toronto FC's Phil "PhilB" Balke and New York Red Bull's Michael "#Mike" LaBelle. Retired professional player, Joedat "Voyboy" Esfahani, will host a community 1v1 League of Legends tournament on both Saturday and Sunday that will broadcast live on his channel. All of this is powered by the lightning fast Internet speeds provided by Bell, who will also have a dedicated free-play booth for all attending gamers with daily prizes.
Red Bull AdrenaLAN presented by Bell will also host a weekend-long hackathon dedicated to game design, development, virtual and augmented reality, and entertainment innovation. Participants are encouraged to create anything they wish over the course of the weekend and will have the opportunity to present their innovations to a panel of leading industry judges. The top three winning teams will be granted auto-acceptance into future hackathons of their choosing. Google will also host two dedicated workshops throughout the event for attending hackers looking to increase their skills.
This weekend-long celebration of all things video games will give passionate gamers a place to connect with their favorite video game titles and leading esports pros for three days of tournaments, free-play action and hackathon competitions.
