MONTREAL, May 26, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Mayor of Montréal, Denis Coderre, today attended the launching ceremony of the 4th edition of C2 Montréal, which is held May 26 to 28, at L'Arsenal, in the Sud-Ouest borough.
"C2 Montréal reinvents the concept of annual international conference to further explore the business/creativity dynamics and unique programming, which reflects our metropolis's international image as a creative and innovative city. The event helps to stimulate the growth of local businesses and promote Montréal talent and know-how. This is why Montréal has been a significant partner of C2 Montréal from its inception and recognizes the importance and relevance of the event," said Mayor Coderre.
C2 Montréal brings together several multisectoral international lecturers. Under the umbrella of creativity and innovation, the event aims to stimulate local and international managers, by offering an immersive environment that fosters cooperation and the emergence of new business solutions. More than 3,000 participants are expected at this three-day event.
Last year, the Ville de Montréal pledged $200,000 annually for the 2014 to 2016 editions of C2 Montréal. This financial support is made possible through the Gouvernement du Québec, as part of the Entente Montréal 2025 agreement, which is managed by the Secrétariat à la region métropolitaine.

Montréal will be submitting several projects and initiatives with a strong presence at the 4th edition of C2 Montréal.
Parcours Innovation PME Montréal 2015
Building on a successful immersive experience at C2 Montréal 2014, Montréal will reiterate the project by offering 30 Montréal SMEs unique experiences, to help them achieve their growth objectives and find creative solutions to their business concerns. This may involve human resources, finance, marketing, productivity, automation, branding, technological progress, or business models. This project benefits from the support of the Ville de Montréal, through financial assistance by the Gouvernement du Québec as part of the Entente Montréal 2025 agreement, which is managed by the Secrétariat à la region métropolitaine.
Cultural "Meet and Greet"
The Ville de Montréal will offer managers of local performance halls to hold a meeting with Mrs. Kara Medoff Barnett, Managing Director, Lincoln Center Global, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Discussions will focus on the new business model established by Mrs. Barnett to promote Lincoln Center.
Social economy
The Ville de Montréal and Comité d'économie sociale de l'île de Montréal (CÉSIM) invite members of the local social economy to meet with representatives of the Grameen Creative Lab led by Nobel Peace Prize winner Mohammad Yunus. As a partner of C2 Montréal, the Grameen Creative Lab chose Montréal to develop its North American market.
Montréal Fashion Bureau
The Ville de Montréal, in association with Centre Phi, invites Montréal fashion designers to celebrate the opening of the "Rhinocéros by Phi" boutique at this 4th edition of C2 Montréal. The boutique will showcase the creativity, uniqueness and originality of Montréal talented artists.
24 Hours of Innovation
This event, which is held in conjunction with C2 Montréal, poses new challenges to more than 1,000 students and members of the community in 10 countries. Montréal becomes involved again this year by issuing a "smart parking" challenge. This is a major issue for smart mobility, which is part of the Montréal Smart and Digital City 2015-2017 Action Plan.
Sud-Ouest borough
The Sud-Ouest borough, which hosts C2 Montréal, invites participants to take part in a cardio-jogging training session along the Lachine Canal and a bicycle discovery tour in Griffintown. Urban planning and housing professionals will be on hand to tell the story of this changing neighbourhood.
C2 Montréal: Significant spinoffs for Montréal
The first three editions of C2 Montréal were highly successful with more than 7,250 participants from 46 countries, as well as many international lecturers and panellists. According to the Institut de la statistique du Québec, this networking event generated economic spinoffs for the city valued at $21 million, to date. Some 20 international lecturers and more than 4,000 participants from the business community are expected. Through lectures, interactive exhibitions, multimedia presentations and collaborative workshops, C2 Montréal will once again propose the annual international conference concept, to better explore the commerce/creativity dynamics.
