The Whistler Sliding Centre to open for limited media access on November 2
and 12 during International Training Weeks

VANCOUVER , Oct. 26 /CNW/ - The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) is hosting international training at The Whistler Sliding Centre, home of bobsleigh, skeleton and luge competitions at the Games.

Media are invited to access the venue on November 2 and November 12 to capture footage of all three sliding sports.

Access to the site is extremely limited because of ongoing venue overlay construction for the Games. Media are asked to confirm their attendance by Friday, October 30 by e-mailing Bridget Cox , VANOC Communications, at [email protected].

Please note: Media are asked to arrive at Parking Lot 6 at least 60 minutes in advance of the training sessions for venue teams to arrange transportation into The Whistler Sliding Centre.

    
    IMPORTANT EVENT ACCESS INFORMATION:

1) PARKING: Parking is only available in Lot 6. Media check-in will take place in Lot 6 at least 60 minutes prior to training times. Media must be on accredited shuttle buses to access The Whistler Sliding Centre. The last shuttle will depart from Lot 6 approximately 30 minutes prior to training start times.

2) FILM AND PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES: The "Men's start" and "Corner 7" will be the two accessible locations for filming and photo opportunities. Media are welcome to stay for the duration of the training sessions.

3) ATHLETE INTERVIEWS: To arrange athlete and coach interviews and confirm athlete training schedules, please contact National Sport Organizations.
