"Waterlogic can change the way Canadians drink water"
- Producing a single 1 liter water bottle requires up to 2,000 times more energy than what is required for the treatment and transmission of tap water;
- It takes about a quarter of a bottle of oil to manufacture one bottle of water;
- Plastic water bottles take about 1,000 years to bio-degrade.

MONTREAL, March 20, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Waterlogic®, a world-leader in water purification for over two decades, is pleased to announce that the world's most highly certified drinking water purifier is now available in Canada : the Hybrid. Waterlogic®'s unique purification technology cleanses regular tap water into the purest, tastiest water possible without wasteful plastic bottles.
"We are delighted to bring our unique Hybrid System to Canada. The Canadian bottled water market is evaluated at $2.3B and since 2007, consumption of bottled water as a primary type of drinking water has been decreasing whereas consumption of tap water has been increasing. Studies show that Canadian consumers are becoming more and more environmentally-conscious and we are confident our Hybrid System will meet their needs", declared Jeremy Ben-David, Waterlogic Group CEO.
"Waterlogic® can change the way people drink water. We believe Waterlogic® is a purer and more-environmentally friendly alternative to what is currently available on the market, be it bottled, tap or filtered water", added Moshe Gazit, Managing Director, Consumer Products Division at Waterlogic.
High performance Firewall technology
At the heart of Waterlogic®'s water purifiers is the unique Firewall technology, a three-stage system that filters, purifies and protects.
- Step 1: Waterlogic® uses the highest quality active carbon filter. This absorbs chlorine, microbes and other contaminants.
- Step 2: A unique double-helix UV array purifies the water all the way through to the nozzle. Even the smallest, toughest bacteria are destroyed. Waterlogic® dispensers are certified by the Water Quality Association as being able to guarantee 99.9999% pure water 100% of the time, a fact which has been confirmed by over 7,000 physical tests in independent laboratories.
- Step 3: Biocote® protection is applied to the nozzle area, further reducing the chance of water contamination.
The Hybrid: flexible and affordable
As narrow as a standard kettle, the Hybrid can be used anywhere: kitchen, office, lounge, hotel rooms, etc. Slick and ergonomic, the Hybrid was designed to fill sports bottles and cooking pans. It is easy to use and requires no installation. Users simply plug in the system, fill the reservoir with tap water, and in one touch can dispense purer and better tasting water. The detachable reservoir can contain up to 1.5L of tap water and fits into a standard fridge tray.
The Hybrid is now available online at www.costco.ca and will soon be available at additional selected stores. Waterlogic® plans to launch additional products in various channels in Canada in the near future. Manufacturer's suggested retail price is $300.
