TORONTO, Aug. 11 /CNW/ - The York-Eglinton International Street Festival is back! The event will kick off on Friday, August 13, 2010 with a sidewalk sale and live DJs from noon to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. the community will be jamming with live music, giveaways, a large Kids-Zone and lots to do for the whole family!
Friday's sidewalk sale will provide the opportunity for everyone to explore local stores and restaurants in the multicultural community and discover a new food or find a new style.
The event has grown from previous years and this year will mark the biggest festival the community has ever seen. Inorganic Market and the Heart and Stroke Foundation are sponsoring two pavilions to provide services and information on improving our environment and personal health. Buskers will be featured along the street to wow the crowd and entertain everyone as they walk around the festival. Our main stage will feature some of the best local talent and will feature artists such as Arsenals, Peculiar-I, Keep 'N' It Real Dance Troupe and BB's Band along with countless others.
Hosted by the York-Eglinton Business Improvement Area (BIA) and its over 230 member businesses the International Street Festival has become a staple in the York-Eglinton Community. The BIA can be found along Eglinton Ave. West between Marlee Ave. and Dufferin Street. Easily accessible via transit or car this year's festival is an event you and your family won't want to miss.
