There's Still Time to Take Part in the 2014 Canada Day Challenge!

GATINEAU, QC, Feb. 10, 2014 /CNW/ - Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today reminded young people across Canada that there is still time to take part in the 2014 Canada Day Challenge.

The Challenge invites young Canadians to explore Canada's history, culture, and identity and to discover what makes this country a truly special place. There's still time to participate before the Challenge closes on February 15, 2014.

This year's theme is Canada: Strong and Free. Be original, be creative, be part of the 2014 Canada Day Challenge! More information is available at www.challenge.pch.gc.ca, including complete contest rules and regulations, entry forms and printer-friendly learning resources.

Quick Facts

• The Canada Day Challenge is open to young people aged 8 to 18.
• There are three categories: Draw it! (original poster design), Snap it! (digital photography), and Write it! (creative writing).
• Three national winners, one from each category, will receive an all-expenses paid trip for two to Ottawa for Canada Day and will have their work displayed at the Canadian Museum of History from June to September 2014. Other prizes include iPad minis and more!
• Official partners of the 2014 Canada Day Challenge are Parks Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Encounters with Canada, the Trans Canada Trail, Canada Post, the Canadian Museum of History, and the Royal Canadian Mint.
