MONTREAL, Oct. 19, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Thrills and chills were the order of the day last Saturday at the first edition of the Decalade Challenge organized by the DNA Committee – the Future of the Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM).
Participants scaled down, face first, the walls of the CHUM Research Centre (CRCHUM), a 250-foot high building, in order to raise funds for the good of patients. A one-of-a-kind opportunity to discover the new CHUM from every angle! More than $65,000 net were raised to be turned over to the hospital for the purpose of supporting health care, research and health promotion.
Higher ever higher, all for patients!
The DNA Committee comprises a mosaic of young professionals dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of CHUM patients through events organized for their peers. The aim of the Committee is to raise awareness among their generation to the Fondation's cause.
"The courage of patients inspired us to outdo ourselves on their behalf as a tribute to them. We're proud to see that several people joined our ranks," declared the members of the DNA Committee, who thought up this anything-but-ordinary event.
On the scene for this special day was the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Fondation du CHUM, Luce Moreau who expressed appreciation to the many donors and participants: "Their obvious generosity is outstanding! These are the heroes of the day. Thanks to them the Fondation is able to support the patients who are the focal point of its commitment."
The DNA Committee wishes to acknowledge the contribution of major sponsors and donors of the event: CGI Group and Gowlings.
