MONTREAL, Feb. 22, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - National Bank is proud to announce that its Canada-wide program, One for Youth Regional Committees, will support 186 youth initiatives, many of which are focused on developing entrepreneurial abilities. Close to 30,000 young people will benefit from the financial support of the 12 Regional Committees that selected the winning projects for the program's third edition.
The Regional Committee members were impressed by the diversity and creativity of the projects, as well as by the enthusiasm and dedication of their ambassadors. For the third straight year, the winners across Canada will share in $1 million to launch their youth initiatives. The amount awarded by the Regional Committees is in addition to more than $25 million distributed to benefit communities in 2015.
"National Bank is very proud to support ambitious young people across the country. The winning initiatives, by their positive impacts, will provide powerful leverage at the individual, community and societal levels," said Yann Jodoin, Senior Vice-President, Client strategy, Marketing and Branding. "This initiative embodies the entrepreneurial spirit promoted by the Bank, in collaboration with numerous partners. I would like to thank the socioeconomic leaders who helped us select the winning projects."
Over the next few weeks, National Bank will be encouraging journalists and the public to follow the winners as they launch their projects.
