TORONTO, Feb. 13, 2013 /CNW/ - Who needs prestige and industry respect when you can have robots and excellent hair? TELETOON at Night's The Fannies is the ultimate awards season underdog, a show in which host Fred Kennedy hands out trophies for things that are really important to humanity - like man bums and swords. The third annual Fannies, taped in front of a live audience for the first time in the show's history, will air Friday, February 22 starting at 9 p.m. ET/PT during TELETOON at Night's Fred at Night programming block.
"What The Fannies lacks in glitz and glamour we make up for in mozza sticks and obscure references to Greek mythology. No really, we actually make references to Greek mythology. That's the type of high-brow humour our viewers expect and once again we promise to deliver," said Fred Kennedy, Host, The Fannies on TELETOON at Night.
This year's categories and nominees are as follows:
- Best Dramatic Performance by a Robot
- Claptrap in Borderlands 2
- David in Prometheus
- Kristen Stewart in Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part II
- Best Use of Swords
- John Carter
- Spartacus: Vengeance
- The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
- Best Man Bum
- Alex Pettyfer (Magic Mike)
- Matthew McConaughey (Magic Mike)
- Channing Tatum (Magic Mike)
- Best Use of Cleavage
- Kat Dennings
- Sophia Vergara
- Kate Upton
- The John Stamos Lifetime Achievement Award in the Category of Hair
- Recipient to be revealed during the broadcast
As a nod to Seth McFarlane, the host of that other awards show, on February 22 the Fred at Night lineup will consist of alternating episodes of Family Guy and American Dad.
TELETOON at Night is inviting fans to join the Fannies conversation (#fannies) via Twitter (@teletoonatnight and Facebook Facebook.com/TELETOONatNight) throughout the broadcast event from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. ET/PT. Viewers can also vote for the Fan Choice Award on Facebook until February 22.
