This Father's Day celebrate the men you love
Lace up your shoes for Prostate Cancer Canada's annual Father's Day Walk/Run
TORONTO, June 14, 2012 /CNW/ - On Sunday, June 17, families in 15 cities across Canada will come together for a morning of fitness and fun to raise awareness for prostate cancer. Toronto, Scarborough and Peel Region are proud to host this year's event encouraging residents of all ages to lace up their shoes in support of the cause.
The Father's Day Walk/Run is an annual event that allows the community to come together to support and celebrate the men in our lives. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer to affect Canadian men. Funds raised support research to uncover better diagnostic and treatment options and to provide support services for those living with the disease.
In addition to the Walk/Run, family activities will also be taking place, making this event a fun affair for the entire family and a special way to celebrate Father's Day.
Media are invited to meet with participants and Prostate Cancer Canada ambassadors to learn about their personal motivation for joining the Walk/Run and the significance of the event in the local community. Onsite photo opportunities will also be available.
