Thousands expected to attend Green Energy Doors Open showcase

Third Annual Green Energy Doors Open Day will showcase more than 110 sustainable energy success stories across Ontario and Alberta

Then join the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA) and Decentralised Energy Canada (DEC) on Saturday, October 4th at one of the more than 110 events taking place in Ontario and Alberta during Green Energy Doors Open. You will meet new people and find out first hand about the opportunities and benefits of sustainable energy.

"Last year 66 hosts and over 1000 people took part visiting renewable energy and conservation projects big and small," explains Kristopher Stevens, OSEA's Executive Director, "Our participating hosts are showing us that we can power, heat, cool and move ourselves, powering our prosperity!"

Ontario has established itself as a leader in sustainable energy in North America. We were the first province to get rid of dirty coal. The Green Energy and Economy Act attracted $24 billion in investment during a global recession and has created more than 42,000 jobs.  In just 6 years Ontario has seen local individual and community ownership of renewable energy projects rise from well under 1% to just over 17% and thousands more want to participate. Ontario is well recognized globally for our smart-grid breakthroughs while energy storage, electric car infrastructure, energy efficiency and our culture of conservation are growing rapidly in importance. We have plenty of success stories to share and opportunities to seize!
