MONTREAL, Oct. 18, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - As part of the 10th annual Buyer/Supplier Day, STIQ is hosting more than 500 carefully planned B2B meetings between some 20 prime contractors and 140 Quebec-based manufacturing SMEs. The objective of Buyer/Supplier Day is two-fold: to allow Quebec SMEs to make initial contact with prime contractors from Quebec and elsewhere so that they can promote their expertise, and to help prime contractors find new supply sources through carefully planned B2B meetings.
"During the day, prime contractors meet with between 15 and 30 potential suppliers—a fast and effective way to find new Quebec suppliers. With our method that matches the expertise offered by SMEs with the concrete needs of buyers, we can increase their odds for success. In addition, for the past 10 years, the initial contacts made at this event have often led to highly lucrative contracts for participating SMEs. This is the reason why so many SMEs come back year after year," says STIQ President and CEO Richard Blanchet.
STIQ believes that partnerships are important, which is why it has also set up B2B meetings between SMEs to foster their development. It is an excellent opportunity for SMEs to forge new ties and find complementary partners that will give them a competitive edge.
"Prime contractors want to use fewer suppliers. It is therefore advantageous for SMEs to meet and develop partnerships so that they can bid on larger projects and be more competitive on an international scale," says Blanchet.
