Quotes
"I am pleased by the financial support announced today, which will benefit families in the Brome‑Missisquoi MRC. Vitalité Frelighsburg has created a safe area for families living in the municipality where their children can play safely. In the case of Espace Vivant/Living Room, the additional funding will play a key role for young people trying to regain control of their lives. Finally, the Stanbridge-East Sports Association will be able to organize Canada Day activities for children so as to create lasting memories of this major celebration."
The Honourable Denis Paradis, Member of Parliament for Brome-Missisquoi
"The funding granted to Vitalité Frelighsburg was part of Canada's 150th anniversary celebrations in 2017. And what better way to mark this milestone than by celebrating the places that bring us together—the places that allow us to stay fit, unwind and connect with our friends and neighbours. This is how we establish the bonds of common understanding and friendship in a country where people hail from every corner of the world. The values of openness, diversity and inclusion that define all Canadians are forged in our community spaces."
The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister responsible for CED
"Our government is committed to preventing and reducing homelessness in Canada because all Canadians deserve to have a safe and secure place to live. Even just one homeless person is one too many. We know that providing the most vulnerable Canadians with a place to live will help them overcome poverty."
The Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development
"Every year, Celebrate Canada activities are a great way for us to get to know each other better and to strengthen the ties that bind us, regardless of where we come from. Let's take advantage of these festivities, which are being held across the country, to get together with family and friends to express our pride in our beautiful country."
The Honourable Mélanie Joy, Minister of Canadian Heritage
