QUEBEC CITY, May 8, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Three new directors were elected to the Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc. board of directors during the company's annual meeting held today at the Quebec City Convention Centre. The new directors are Jocelyne Bourgon, Denyse Chicoyne and Danielle G. Morin.
The Honourable Jocelyne Bourgon has enjoyed a distinguished career in the Canadian Public Service. In addition to having been Deputy Minister of several major departments, she has served as Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to Cabinet. She also possesses extensive international experience, having served as President of the United Nations Committee of Experts in Public Administration, President of the Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) and Canadian Ambassador to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). She is President of Public Governance International (PGI), President Emerita of the Canada School of Public Service and a distinguished visiting fellow of the Civil Service College (Singapore). She serves on various boards including the Institute for Government (London, UK), Mindlab (Copenhagen, Denmark) and the OECD advisory board on Public Sector Innovation (Paris, France).
Denyse Chicoyne is a corporate director. She has worked in the securities industry as a top ranked analyst for major brokerage firms such as BMO Nesbitt Burns, Nesbitt Thomson and McNeil Mantha. She was also a senior analyst and portfolio manager for the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. Ms. Chicoyne is a member of the Montreal Society of Financial Analysts and serves on the boards of Richelieu Hardware, Deans Knight Income Corporation and TMX Group Limited.
A trained actuary, Danielle G. Morin has vast experience in different sectors of the financial services industry. She has held executive positions with a number of financial institutions such as Sun Life, the Laurentian Imperial Company, Desjardins Group, the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSPIB) and Standard Life Investments. In addition, Ms. Morin has served on the boards of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and ASSURIS (previously CompCorp), and has been on the board of the Fondation de I'Université Laval since 2010.
Industrial Alliance's board of directors is chaired by John LeBoutillier and is made up of 14 members. Its composition is as follows:
