Three Nipissing-District teachers elected to leadership positions

OTTAWA, March 19 /CNW Telbec/ - Three Nipissing-District teachers will hold leadership positions within the Association des enseignantes et des enseignants franco-ontariens (AEFO) for the next two years. They were elected by delegates attending AEFO's 2010 Policy Convention in Ottawa this week.
Denis Bonin, a teacher with the Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord in Sturgeon Falls, was given a second mandate as vice-president of the Provincial Executive Committee. Mr. Bonin has been President of the Nipissing Catholic Local Unit of AEFO since 2004 and a member of the Provincial Executive Committee since 2006. Mr. Bonin is an active member of his community, having served as councillor for the Municipality of West Nipissing and as vice-president of the Nickel Belt Liberal Association. He is currently President of the Canadian Marfan Association.
Nathalie Drolet, a teacher at École élémentaire Ste-Anne in North Bay, was given a first mandate as councillor on the Provincial Executive Committee. She is currently vice-president of the Nipissing Catholic Local Unit of AEFO and sits on the Provincial Governing Council.
Marc St-Georges, a teacher at École secondaire Franco-Cité in Sturgeon Falls, will represent AEFO on the Board of Governors of the Ontario Teachers' Federation. He has held various positions within AEFO at both the local and provincial levels and is currently a councillor on the Provincial Executive Committee.
AEFO represents 9,500 teachers and other educational workers who work in Ontario's French-language elementary and secondary schools, as well as workers in other French-language establishments in the province.
