RED DEER, AB, May 25, 2016 /CNW/ - Three-time Memorial Cup winner, retired NHL player and Alberta native, Darcy Tucker and Collins Barrow are making a special visit to Ronald McDonald House Charities® Central Alberta on Saturday, May 28.
Tucker is in Red Deer to attend the MasterCard Memorial Cup from Friday, May 27 to Sunday, May 29, as part of Collins Barrow's proud local sponsorship of the tournament. In the lead up to the final game, Collins Barrow and Tucker have been celebrating the challenger mindset of junior hockey with CHL ticket giveaways, autographed gear contests and special videos – all part of the 'Be A Challenger' campaign.
The finale of the campaign will be a visit by Tucker and Collins Barrow to Ronald McDonald House® in Red Deer, where they will give one family tickets to attend the final tournament game with Tucker. As well, Tucker will meet and greet with all the families and staff at the charity, playing games with the kids, giving away gift bags and going on a tour of the house.
"It will be such a treat for the families staying with us, as well as for our staff, to meet Darcy Tucker and Collins Barrow!" said Ronald McDonald House Charities Central Alberta interim CEO, Tammy Corsiatto. "For families struggling to help a child who is ill, a special visit like this will brighten their time here immensely."
