QUÉBEC CITY, Nov. 19, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The last weekend in November promises to be one for the ages this year in Québec City. Local thrill-seekers will be astonished by three blockbuster events. Red Bull Crashed Ice celebrates 10 years in Québec City while the Vanier Cup and boxers Lucian Bute and James DeGale complete this November wrap up.
Red Bull Crashed Ice has been drawing crowds in Québec City for 10 years now, and its sole Canadian stop this season is here November 27. Adrenaline junkies will be in their glory, enjoying the fix only this event can offer. And with our friends south of the border on their Thanksgiving long weekend, we may be welcoming more than a few American thrill-seekers to join in on the fun.
The Vanier Cup is the culmination of an intense season of hard work. Fans from across the country will flood the city to cheer on their teams, and the pre-game tailgate festivities will have them raring to go. Come experience it for yourselves—kickoff is at 1 p.m.!
The eagerly awaited gala boxing event featuring Lucian Bute and James DeGale will be a magnet for boxing aficionados at Centre Vidéotron on the night of November 28. This will be the first-ever bout held in Québec City's new arena, with room for 18,000 fans.
"It's an outstanding showcase for Québec City on the final weekend of November" said Québec City Tourism President Jean-François Côté. "The city will be alive with these different events, and everyone's invited to get into the groove. Québec City is now more than ever a place for top-drawer international events."
"It practically goes without saying that this kind of international visibility at the start of winter and before the holiday season could have a real impact on winter tourism in 2015–2016," added Québec City Tourism Director André Roy.
