Casino Regina Show Lounge to host the Jewel of JUNO Week

REGINA, Feb. 7, 2013 /CNW/ - Intimate, live and unscripted….one of the most popular events of JUNO Week, JUNO Songwriters' Circle presented by the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) and eOne is coming to Casino Regina on April 21.

The annual concert celebrates and promotes some of Canada's finest songwriters. It's a chance for them to perform in an intimate setting, and to discuss the art of songwriting with their fellow musicians. Past participants include Randy Bachman, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Jann Arden, Joel Plaskett, Johnny Reid and Ron Sexsmith. Dan Mangan hosted the 2012 Songwriters' Circle and went on to win JUNO Awards for Breakthrough Artist of the Year (formerly New Artist of the Year) and Alternative Album of the Year.

The host and performers for the 2013 JUNO Songwriters' Circle will be announced March 19.

Tickets for the 19+ concert on April 21 can be purchased at the Casino Regina Box Office, online at www.ticketbreak.com/casinoregina or by calling 1-800-555-3189. Tickets are $40 for the main floor seats and $35 for balcony seats (plus taxes and service charges). The show starts at 12 p.m. and doors open 45 minutes before the show.

CBCMusic.ca is the official media presenter of the JUNO Songwriters' Circle. The show is broadcast to more than half-a-million listeners via CBC Radio One, CBC Radio 2 and cbcmusic.ca.

Since its inception, close to 15,000 fans have attended JUNO Songwriters' Circle and it has raised almost $400,000 for MusiCounts.

The 42nd Annual JUNO Awards and JUNO Week will be held in Regina and Moose Jaw, SK, April 15 - April 21, 2013.
