Tickets on Sale Sept 21 for "It's Always Something" Variety Show for Gilda's Club, Presented by The Keg Steakhouse & Bar.
TORONTO, Sept. 20, 2012 /CNW/ - Toronto's Number One Night of Entertainment, "It's Always Something", Presented by The Keg Steakhouse & Bar, an evening of comedy, music and dance in support of Gilda's Club Greater Toronto, announces that tickets will go on sale this Friday, September 21 at 10am for the 11th annual Variety Show to take place on Saturday, November 17th at The Sony Centre for The Performing Arts.
Back for his sixth consecutive year of hosting is Canada's internationally acclaimed Gemini Award winning comedian Russell Peters, with another all-star cast of comedians, musicians and dancers. All are donating their talents to Gilda's Club Greater Toronto, a cancer care centre providing free social and emotional support programs for kids, teens and adults, helping them, and their families, live with a cancer diagnosis in their lives.
Joining Russell will be Canada's first lady of musical theatre and Broadway star Louise Pitre, Tony-nominated for "Mamma Mia" and star of "Les Miserables" and "Edith Piaf". Returning for another always knockout performance is Gemini Award winning comedian Ron James, star of six critically acclaimed one hour comedy specials and "The Ron James Show", currently shooting its 4th successful season on CBC. One of Canada's hottest rising singers, Lindi Ortega, recent Juno Award winner as 'Best New Artist', will be making her "It's Always Something" debut, along with an appearance by the reigning Miss Canada 2013 Melanie Williamson. Also joining the cast to astound the audience is the internationally famous Cirque Sublime. And, as is its tradition, more surprises and talent are always guaranteed as the show date nears, making "It's Always Something" one of the must-attend entertainment events of the year.
All proceeds from "It's Always Something" go to support Gilda's Club, Greater Toronto, named after famed Saturday Night Live comedian Gilda Radner. Over its 10 years, the show has raised close to four million dollars to fulfill Gilda's wish that "no one should face cancer alone."
