Tiger Resources Limited - Copper drilling programme starts at Sase Project
PERTH, Western Australia, Aug. 11 /CNW/ - Tiger Resources Limited (ASX/TSX: TGS) ('Tiger' or the 'Company') is pleased to announce the start of a drilling programme on its 100% held Luputo Permit, PR2214 in the Democratic Republic of Congo's Katangan Copper Belt.
An earlier diamond drilling programme delineated a zone of high grade oxide copper mineralisation extending over a strike of 600m, a surface width of up to 200m and to a depth of 120m at the Sase Project. Drilling intersections, announced on 9 February, 2009, included 64m @ 3.27% Cu, 73.25m @ 3.33% Cu, 38.85m @ 5.23% Cu and 60.50m @ 3.49% Cu.
Drilling in the current programme will target the strike length, width and depth extensions of the mineralisation and also continuity of mineralisation between existing drill holes in order to support a JORC compliant resource estimation at the Sase Project.
The high grade mineralisation at Sase is localised within a complex fault system that has been traced out over several kilometres. Other zones of copper mineralisation have been identified along the same structures and will be tested during this programme.
The programme is also designed to test high priority targets located in other parts of PR 2214. Target areas are based on anomalous soil geochemistry results coincident with areas of deformation associated with regional fault systems as interpreted from high resolution aeromagnetic data.
The northern boundary of PR 2214 is located some 15km to the south of the Kipoi Project area and can be reached either by road from Lubumbashi or by a road that links the Sase Project directly to Kipoi. The sequence of Roan sediments that hosts the Judeira, Kipoi Central and Kileba projects extends through the northern part of PR2214.
