QUEEN'S PARK, Nov. 19 /CNW/ - After months of denial, contradiction and flat out refusal to answer questions, Tim Hudak admitted today that he's not going to scrap the HST:
- "Hudak told the Trentonian while it isn't possible to scrap the HST, there are other options." (The Trentonian - Online)
Hudak and the Conservatives hope Ontarians forget Hudak's promises to stop the HST "dead in its tracks" and "fight it tooth and nail".
While he now talks about potential "options", Hudak and the Conservatives have consistently opposed tax cuts for families, seniors and businesses.
- Hudak opposed: Cut in Personal Income Tax Rate - now the lowest tax rate on first $36,000 income earned, a tax cut for 93% of Ontarians
- Hudak opposed: Cuts to business taxes to help create jobs and stimulate the economy
- Hudak opposed: Doubling the Ontario Seniors Property Tax Grant, now providing $500 per year for senior homeowners.
- Hudak opposed: Ontario Sales Tax Credit, a permanent measure that will provide $1040 per year for the average family
Tim Hudak and the Conservatives have been misleading and misinforming Ontarians for months - and now admit they have no plans to repeal the HST.
Tim Hudak has accidentally let slip to Ontarians what he really believes. That is, if he believes in anything.
