Alison Neuman provides inspiration to children…one page at a time
EDMONTON, Dec. 8 /CNW/ - 'Tis the season for helping those in need and Canadian writer & lyricist Alison Neuman is encouraging everyone to make this holiday season one for the books. In her pursuit to help children achieve their dreams, Neuman announces her support of the Rainbow Society of Canada with an initial donation of more than $1800 raised during the launch of her newest literary work - Ice Rose.
Give the Gift of Hope
While Neuman is helping grant wishes to terminally and chronically ill children of Alberta, she's reminding Canadians that this is the season for giving and everyone should consider supporting their local charity.
Helping those in need has been her passion for many years. Since 1993, Neuman has been involved in various fundraising initiatives, including: Kids Helping Kids, Children's Miracle Network, Kids Help Phone, S.P.C.A., The Christmas Bureau, Santa's Anonymous, Cerebral Palsy Association and most recently The Rainbow Society of Canada.
Give Wisely
Neuman takes a common sense approach to giving and suggests a few simple tips:
- Always take the time to research the charitable organization before making a donation.
- Find a charity with a proven track record, and one that is registered.
- Some charitable organizations allow donors to designate where the money should go; feel free to follow up with them to see how the money was used.
- An easy way to ensure the charity is reputable is to look online at:

Turning a New Page to Help Kids
Neuman's commitment to helping others is evident throughout her daily life. Be it her philanthropic initiatives, her dance or even her writing, the message is always clear -- Neuman is always thinking of helping those in need.
Her latest spy novel for young adults - Ice Rose - delivers Neuman's message of hope and helping others. She inspires readers to never give up through the eyes of protagonist Elissa Morris. Confined to a wheelchair due to an explosion at her father's studio, a young teen (Morris) sets out to uncover the truth about her father's disappearance. Entering an exclusive academy that immerses her in the world of secret agents, Morris must overcome her fears and disabilities to discover the truth about her dad, his software, and the mystery man stalking her before she ends up like her father ...lost.
