Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange
TORONTO, Jan. 6, 2012 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for December and full year 2011.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 199 new issuers during 2011, up from 187 new listings in 2010, which represents an increase of 6%. Total financings raised fell 7% from 2010 levels. The number of IPOs increased 8% to 128 from 119 in 2010, though IPO financings raised were down 38%.
There were 10 new issuers on Toronto Stock Exchange in December 2011, down from both December 2010 and from November 2011, when there were 32 and 11 issuers listed respectively. Of the new listings, 7 were exchange traded funds.
TSX Venture Exchange listed 216 new issuers in 2011, representing a 17% increase from 2010, when there were 185. Total financings raised exceeded 2010 levels by 2%. In 2011, 46 issuers graduated to Toronto Stock Exchange compared to 39 graduates in 2010, an increase of 18%.
TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 20 new issuers in December 2011, down 20% from December 2010 which had 25 new listings, and down 13% from November 2011 which had 23. Total financings raised fell 73% from December 2010 and were down 29% compared to November 2011.
