TORONTO, July 6 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for June, 2010.
Listing and financing activity on both Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange continued to be robust in June 2010. There were 14 new issuers listed on Toronto Stock Exchange in June 2010; there were 94 new issuers on a year-to-date basis, which represents a 154.1% increase over the same period in 2009. Eleven companies were welcomed to TSX Venture Exchange in June 2010, 10 of which were initial public offerings (IPO). There were 81 new issuers listed on TSX Venture Exchange during the first six months of 2010 compared to 44 during the first six months of 2009.
Total financings raised on Toronto Stock Exchange in June 2010 was 30.0% greater in June 2010 than in May 2010. On a year-to-date basis, there was a 242.3% increase in IPO financings on the senior exchange. TSX Venture Exchange saw an increase of 192.3% in total financings raised during the first half of 2010 compared to the first half of 2009.
