TMX Group - Equity Financing Statistics March 2010

TORONTO, April 6 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its equity financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for March 2010.
Equity financing on both markets continued to be strong in March. Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 11 new issuers to the market in March for a total of 49 year to date, which represents an increase of 226.6% compared to the first three months in 2009. IPO financings for the first three months of 2010 exceeded those in the same period in 2009 by 536%.
Total financings on TSX Venture Exchange were up 228.9% in the first three months of 2010 compared to the same period in 2009. Eleven issuers joined the market in March, including eight IPOs. Total market capitalization was again up significantly on TSX Venture Exchange; there was a 93.0% improvement in March 2010 compared to March 2009.
