TORONTO, Dec. 7 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for November 2010.
Equity financing on Toronto Stock Exchange continued to be robust during November 2010. 18 new issuers listed on the Exchange during the month, bringing the year-to-date total to 155. Initial public offerings (IPO) were up significantly in November 2010; there were 12 IPOs during the month, compared to 6 last month. IPO financings(1) were up dramatically in November 2010, both compared to October 2010 (185%) and November 2009 (327%). On a year-to-date basis, there were 98 IPOs, representing a 75% increase over the same period in 2009.
TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 19 new issuers in November 2010, compared to 14 in October 2010 and 11 in November 2009. Total financings raised in November 2010 were up 98% compared to October 2010 and 62% compared to November 2009. On a year-to-date basis, total financings raised in 2010 were almost double the same period in 2009. 34 companies have graduated from TSX Venture Exchange to Toronto Stock Exchange during the first 11 months of 2010, compared to 12 in 2009.
