TORONTO, Nov. 3 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for October 2010.
Listing and financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange saw increases in October 2010 compared to the previous month. During the month, the exchange welcomed 12 new listings compared to 10 in September 2010. On a year-to-date basis, new listings continue to greatly exceed 2009 levels. There were 6 IPOs on Toronto Stock Exchange in October 2010 compared to 2 the month before. Total financings in October 2010 of $3.9 billion were more than double the $1.7 billion of financings in September 2010.
IPO financing activity on TSX Venture Exchange was up 13% percent in October 2010 compared to September 2010. During the month, TSX Venture Exchange listed 14 new issuers and had 10 IPOs, slight decreases from the previous month. To-date in 2010, TSX Venture Exchange continues to outperform 2009 levels in all measures.
