TORONTO, Oct 5 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for September 2010.
In September 2010, Toronto Stock Exchange added 10 new issuers, keeping pace with the previous month's figure and exceeding the September 2009 number of 5 new listings. On a year-to-date basis, Toronto Stock Exchange has listed 125 new issuers compared to 53 during the same period in 2009, representing an increase of 136%.
Total financing raised on Toronto Stock Exchange was down in September 2010, both compared to last month and to September 2009. On a year-to-date basis, IPO financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange continues to exceed 2009 levels, with 2010 IPO financings ahead 111% compared to the same period last year.
In September 2010, TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 19 new issuers, compared to 11 in the previous month. The first nine months of 2010 saw 127 issuers list on TSX Venture Exchange, compared to 66 in the same period in 2009. Total financings raised on TSX Venture Exchange in September 2010 were up 35% compared to last month and 155% compared to September 2009.
