Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange
TORONTO, May 4, 2012 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for April 2012.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 16 new issuers in April 2012, which is up from 8 in March 2012 and down from 24 in April 2011. Of the new listings, 6 were exchange traded products and 3 were from the mining sector. There were 3 graduates to Toronto Stock Exchange in April 2012, up from one in March 2012 and on pace with April 2011. Total financings raised were down 57% compared to March 2012 and down 41% compared to April 2011. On a year-to-date basis, total financings raised continued to exceed 2011 levels.
TSX Venture Exchange listed 15 new issuers in April 2012, down from the previous month when there were 23, but up from April 2011 when there were 10. Of the new listings, 3 were from the mining sector. Total financings raised were down 47% compared to March 2012 and down 59% compared to April 2011. Year-to-date, the number of new issuers listed continues to surpass 2011 levels.
