TORONTO, May 6, 2014 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for April 2014.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 11 new issuers in April 2014, up from 10 the same month a year earlier, and up from 5 the previous month. The new listings included 4 exchange traded funds, 2 life sciences companies, 1 diversified industries company, 1 technology company, 1 clean technology company, 1 oil & gas company and 1 real estate company. Total financings raised in April 2014 increased 57% compared to April 2013, but decreased 6% compared to the previous month. The total number of financings in April 2014 was 50, up from 45 the same month a year earlier, but down from 52 the previous month.
TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 4 new issuers in April 2014, down from 9 in April 2013, and down from 6 the previous month. The new listings included 3 mining companies and 1 company from the Capital Pool Company program. Total financings raised in April 2014 increased 203% from April 2013, and increased 100% from the previous month. There were 167 financings in April 2014 compared to 121 in April 2013 and 152 in March 2014.
Four companies graduated from TSX Venture Exchange to Toronto Stock Exchange during April 2014, up from 1 in April 2013. There were no graduates in March 2014.
