TORONTO, Sept. 6, 2013 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for August 2013.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 10 new issuers in August 2013, up from 8 the previous month and up from 5 in August 2012. The new listings include 6 exchange traded funds, 1 structured product, 1 clean technology company, 1 mining company and 1 financial services company. Total financings raised in August 2013 was down 40% from July 2013 and was down 28% year-over-year. In August 2013, the total number of financings was 47, which is up from 36 the previous month and 41 in August 2012.
TSX Venture Exchange listed 3 new issuers in August 2013, which is down from 5 the previous month and 12 in August 2012. The new listings include 2 from the Capital Pool Company Program and 1 communications and media company. In August 2013, total financings raised decreased 31% from July 2013 and decreased 54% from August 2012. There were 111 financings in August 2013, compared to 114 in July 2013 and 132 the same month last year.
