TORONTO, Jan. 7, 2015 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for December 2014.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 6 new issuers in December 2014, down from 11 in November 2014, but up from 5 in December 2013. The new listings included 2 structured products, 2 mining companies and 2 diversified industries companies. Total financings raised in December 2014 increased 57% compared to the previous month, and increased 3% compared to December 2013. The total number of financings in December 2014 was 64, up from 45 the previous month, but down from 69 the same month a year earlier.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 121 new issuers in 2014 compared to 108 in 2013. Total financings raised in 2014 increased 32% from 2013. In 2014, the total number of financings was 664 compared to 599 in 2013. TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 4 new issuers in December 2014, down from 5 the previous month, and down from 11 in December 2013. The new listings included 2 companies from the Capital Pool Company program, 1 diversified industries company and 1 mining company. Total financings raised increased 82% from the previous month, and increased 68% from December 2013. There were 145 financings in December 2014, up from 102 the previous month, but down from 168 December 2013.
TSX Venture Exchange listed 56 issuers in 2014 compared to 76 in 2013. Total financings raised in 2014 increased 39% from 2013 and the total number of financings was essentially flat.
