Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange
TORONTO, Feb. 6, 2012 /CNW/ -TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for January 2012.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 8 new issuers in January 2012, compared to 5 new listings in January 2011 and 10 in December 2011. The new listings include 3 from the mining sector. IPO financings raised reached $154 million in January 2012, which represents a 250% increase over December 2011 and a 179% increase over the same month a year earlier. Total financings raised were up 56% from the previous month and up 234% from January 2011.
TSX Venture Exchange listed 12 new issuers in January 2012, down from 20 in December 2011 and down from 13 in January 2011. Of these new listings, 5 were from the mining sector. There were three graduates to Toronto Stock Exchange in January 2012, up compared to December 2011, when there was one graduate, and from January 2011, when there were two graduates. Total financings raised increased 9% compared to December 2011, though were down 41% compared to January 2011.
