TORONTO, Aug. 7, 2014 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for July 2014.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 17 new issuers in July 2014, up from 12 the previous month, and up from 8 in July 2013. The new listings included 11 exchange traded funds, 4 structured products, 1 technology company and 1 oil & gas company. Total financings raised in July 2014 decreased 32% compared to June 2014, but increased 5% compared to July 2013. The total number of financings in July 2014 was 77, up from 60 the previous month, and up from 36 the same month a year earlier.
TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 6 new issuers in July 2014, up from 1 in June 2014, and up from 5 in July 2013. The new listings included 2 companies from the Capital Pool Company program, 1 technology company, 1 oil & gas company, 1 real estate company and 1 mining company. Total financings raised in July 2014 increased 71% from June 2014, and increased 210% from July 2013. There were 160 financings in July 2014 compared to 114 in both June 2014 and July 2013.
