TORONTO, April 4, 2014 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for March 2014.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 5 new issuers in March 2014, down from 16 the previous month and down from 15 the same month a year earlier. The new listings included 2 mining companies, 2 structured products and 1 diversified industries company. Total financings raised in March 2014 decreased 4% compared to the previous month, and was down 43% compared to March 2013. The total number of financings in March 2014 was 52, down from 63 the previous month, and down from 73 the same month a year earlier.
TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 6 new issuers in March 2014, up from 4 the previous month, and unchanged from March 2013. The new listings included 3 mining companies, 1 oil & gas company, 1 financial services company and 1 company from the Capital Pool Company program. Total financings raised in March 2014 decreased 35% from the previous month, and decreased 28% from March 2013. There were 152 financings in March 2014 compared to 128 in February 2014 and 147 the same month a year earlier.
