TORONTO, June 5, 2014 /CNW/ -TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for May 2014.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 7 new issuers in May 2014, down from 11 the previous month, and down from 14 the same month a year earlier. The new listings included 2 oil & gas companies, 2 structured products, 1 exchange traded fund, 1 forest products & paper company and 1 diversified industries company. Total financings raised in May 2014 increased 79% compared to April 2014, and increased 84% compared to May 2013. The total number of financings in May 2014 was 52, up from 50 the previous month, and up from 39 the same month a year earlier.
TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 7 new issuers in May 2014, up from 4 in April 2014, and unchanged from May 2013. The new listings included 2 mining companies, 2 companies from the Capital Pool Company program, 1 oil & gas company, 1 financial services company and 1 life sciences company. Total financings raised in May 2014 decreased 41% from April 2014, but increased 25% from May 2013. There were 138 financings in May 2014 compared to 167 in April 2014 and 111 in May 2013.
Three companies graduated from TSX Venture Exchange to Toronto Stock Exchange during May 2014, down from 4 the previous month, but up from 2 the same month a year earlier.
