Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange
TORONTO, March 6, 2012 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for February 2012.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 15 new issuers in February 2012, up from the previous month which listed 8, but down from February 2011 which had 21 new listings. Of the new listings, 8 were exchange traded funds and 5 were from the mining sector. There were 10 IPOs in February 2012, up from 5 in January 2012, but down compared to February 2011 when there were 18. Total financings raised increased 53% from January 2012 and were up 43% compared to the same month a year earlier. On a year-to-date basis, total financings raised exceeded 2011 figures by 85%.
TSX Venture Exchange had 20 new listings during the month, up from 12 in January 2012 and up from 18 in February 2011. Nine of the new listings were from the mining sector. There were 5 graduates to Toronto Stock Exchange in February 2012, ahead of both the previous month which had 3, and from February 2011 which had 2. On a year-to-date basis, the number of new issuers increased, though total financings raised fell from 2011 levels.
