Now is the time to join the action!
TORONTO, Aug. 7, 2015 /CNW/ - With athletes ready to compete in the largest Parapan Am Games in history, the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Organizing Committee (TO2015) is releasing small blocks of new tickets for the most high-demand events.
"I have been looking forward to the upcoming week for three years," said 19-time Paralympic medallist, swimming, Benoît Huot. "One of the reasons why I am still competing today is because of these Games. I can't wait to compete at home in front of friends, family and Canadians. The Parapan Am Games will give us an incredible opportunity to grow the Paralympic Movement."
As TO2015 is set to stage the Opening Ceremony tonight, the Organizing Committee is releasing small blocks of previously unavailable tickets for many of the high-demand events, including the Opening Ceremony, wheelchair rugby — or murderball as it is sometimes known — and wheelchair basketball's gold-medal match. All new blocks of tickets will be released at 12:00 p.m. (ET) today and will be available at TORONTO2015.org/tickets.
"We are very excited to give more people an opportunity to see some of these high-demand sports," said Saäd Rafi, chief executive officer, TO2015. "These Games are going to be unforgettable. The athletes are going to change the way you think about sport. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to wear your flag and cheer at the top of your lungs — you don't want to miss it."
Typically in multi-sport Games, organizers hold back tickets until the number of athletes and officials attending the competition is confirmed, to accommodate potential seating adjustments and ensure good sight lines.
Once the final blocks of tickets are sold, these events will likely not be available again. The number of tickets released in each sport is very limited, so purchasers who hope to snap them up should purchase as soon as possible. Also, few tickets remain for some sessions of popular events including sitting volleyball, track, cycling, wheelchair tennis and the football 5-a-side and boccia gold-medal games.
Buying tickets to the Games
Tickets for Parapan Am sporting events range from $20 to $35 for adults, with a youth (under 16) and senior (65+) discount from $10 to $12.50 available, depending on the event. The number of discounted tickets is limited, so don't delay.
Easy options for buying: Tickets can be purchased online at TORONTO2015.org/tickets or at 1.855.726.2015 and internationally at 1.949.333.4824. Every event ticket will allow the holder to access transit on the day of the event.
