TODAY - Unifor to respond to federal budget - looking for job creation measures
TORONTO, Feb. 11, 2014 /CNW/ - Unifor, Canada's largest union in the private sector, will be responding to the federal budget after it is unveiled at 4 p.m. ET this afternoon.
Unifor National President Jerry Dias will be available for comment.
"Today, we're looking for real measures in the budget that help create decent full-time jobs," said Dias. "So far the government's record on the jobs front has been poor at best, as we saw from the few jobs created last year."
Unifor was founded Labour Day weekend 2013 with the joining together of the Canadian Auto Workers and the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers unions. Unifor represents 300,000 members in nearly every sector of the economy.
