Tom Bateman, County Engineer, County of Essex, Elected OGRA President
OAKVILLE, ON, March 4, 2014 /CNW/ - Tom Bateman, County Engineer, County of Essex officially took over as President of the Ontario Good Roads Association on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the close of the 2014 ROMA/OGRA Combined Conference.
As County Engineer, Tom brings years of experience and knowledge to the Board and the Association as President.
Tom has served as a Director on the Board since 2006 when he was elected to represent the Southwest Zone. Through his pro-active participation in the Detroit River International Crossing plans and involvement with such innovative projects as accelerated construction methodologies, OGRA has gained tremendous benefit from his involvement on the Board over the last eight years.
Tom and the 14 member Board of Directors provide policy guidance and leadership to the OGRA staff and fiscal oversight of OGRA activities.
The mandate of the Ontario Good Roads Association is to represent the infrastructure interests of Ontario's 444 municipalities through advocacy, consultation, training and the delivery of identified services.
