TORONTO, Jan. 9, 2014 /CNW/ - Karen Gavan, president and chief executive officer of Economical Insurance, is pleased to announce the appointment of Toomas (Tom) Reikman as senior vice-president and chief operating officer (COO) effective January 20, 2014. As COO, Mr. Reikman will report directly to the president and CEO.
"Tom brings to Economical more than 20 years' experience in senior leadership as well as significant breadth and depth of expertise in the property and casualty industry, including commercial, personal and group underwriting, marketing, and broker relationships," Gavan said. "He is returning to Economical where he held senior leadership roles between 1995 and 2006."
Most recently, Reikman has held various executive roles with Aviva Canada including senior vice-president, Ontario region; senior vice-president, Pilot Insurance Company and Scottish and York Insurance Company; and senior vice-president, national marketing.
