Tommy Hilfiger and Hudson's Bay expand Canadian distribution partnership
90 Hudson's Bay stores to offer 'Tommy Hilfiger' womenswear across Canada starting Spring 2013
TORONTO AND NEW YORK, NY, April 30, 2013 /CNW/ - The Tommy Hilfiger Group, which is wholly owned by PVH Corp. [NYSE: PVH], and Hudson's Bay, one of Canada's leading fashion retailers, are pleased to announce the addition of Tommy Hilfiger women's sportswear to all 90 Hudson's Bay stores across Canada and www.thebay.com starting this month; key doors will also feature the Tommy Hilfiger women's footwear collection. The Company partnered with Hudson's Bay to introduce Tommy Hilfiger menswear into Hudson's Bay stores in Fall 2011. Over the coming months, Tommy Hilfiger will invest in the development of fixtured shop-in-shop environments in key doors, based on the iconic creative identity for the brand's global retail experience, to deliver the best brand and product experience for Hudson's Bay shoppers.
"Canada's robust economy and increasingly discerning fashion consumers make this the perfect time to introduce Tommy Hilfiger womenswear at Hudson's Bay stores," said Gary Sheinbaum, Chief Executive Officer of Tommy Hilfiger North America. "Our strategic alliance with Hudson's Bay for Tommy Hilfiger menswear has served our business very well, and we're excited to be expanding the partnership."
"Hudson's Bay is thrilled to expand our Tommy Hilfiger offerings with the introduction of womenswear at our stores across Canada and also on thebay.com," said Liz Rodbell, EVP, Chief Merchant, Hudson's Bay Company. "Introducing womenswear is a natural expansion as we grow our Tommy Hilfiger business and falls in line with our commitment to offer our customers the very best brands."
Fixtured shop-in-shop installed at 59 locations - including Hudson's Bay's flagship stores in downtown Toronto (176 Yonge Street at Queen West), downtown Montreal (585 rue Ste-Catherine Ouest) and Vancouver (674 Granville Street) - opened this month, and will be followed by 17 additional locations for Fall 2013. The remaining doors will be installed and opened through 2014. The average Tommy Hilfiger-branded location will occupy approximately 350-500 square feet, but the Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver flagship stores will feature full 700-1,000 square foot Tommy Hilfiger installations.
