Tomorrow: CAW and CEP to hold press conference regarding future Unifor leadership
TORONTO, Aug. 7, 2013 /CNW/ - The CAW and CEP will be making an important announcement regarding the future union leadership of Unifor tomorrow, Thursday, August 8 at 12-noon ET.

The Canadian Auto Workers union and Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada will be joining together to create a new Canadian union - Unifor, with the goal of ensuring safer workplaces, secure employment and wages and benefits that provide a decent standard of living.
Unifor will hold its founding convention over Labour Day weekend, August 30 - September 1, in downtown Toronto. Convention delegates will vote on the new union leadership team, including the six top officers (national president, secretary-treasurer, Quebec, Ontario, Atlantic and Western region director) as well as a number of regional, sector and equity positions. The Unifor Founding Convention will be livestreamed at www.newunionconvention.ca.
Unifor will represent more than 300,000 workers in approximately 20 different economic sectors.
