Top Auto Executives Headline Women on Wheels

TORONTO, Feb. 21, 2018 /CNW/ - Featuring top executives and covering a broad range of auto industry issues, Women on Wheels at the 2018 Canadian International AutoShow is a networking opportunity and panel discussion geared towards professional women and aspiring students in the Toronto area.
Women on Wheels, which takes place on Thurs., Feb. 22, 6-9 p.m. in Room 801 of the South Building at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, will focus on automotive issues such as NAFTA negotiations as well as personal stories and advice about achieving success in the male-dominated auto industry.
Award-winning auto journalist Petrina Gentile will host a one-on-one interview with Laura Schwab, president of Aston Martin the Americas, which will focus on her rise in the auto industry, breaking down barriers, and achieving work-life balance.
The interview will be followed by a panel featuring some of Canada's top female auto executives including Maria Soklis, President, Cox Automotive (former COO, Kia Canada and the highest ranking female executive at Kia globally), Susan Gubasta, President and CEO, Mississauga Toyota and incoming TADA president, and Amy Martin, Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer, GM Canada.
The focus will be on automotive issues such as EVs, autonomous vehicles, and their personal stories of achieving success. They will also share secrets on how to become effective leaders.
The Women on Wheels schedule is as follows:
6:15 – 7:00 p.m. – registration, networking and h'ordeuvres
7:00 – 7:45 p.m. – one-on-one exclusive interview with Laura Schwab
7:45 – 8:30 p.m. – panel discussion with Canada's top female auto executives
8:30 – 8:45 p.m. – Q&A session with audience members (time permitting)
8:45 – 9:00 p.m. – networking, photo opportunities
