Top Canadian Family Businesses Honoured
OAKVILLE, ON, March 31, 2015 /CNW/ - The Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFE) today announced that Morley Hoppner, an Ottawa-based construction firm, was selected as the recipient of the national Family Enterprise of the Year Award for 2015 and Liquiforce and Cresco were recognized as National Finalists. The Family Enterprise of the Year Award was established in 1986 to recognize and celebrate the importance of family enterprise which constitutes an estimated 80% of all business worldwide and 70-90% of global GDP. Previous recipients of the prestigious award include Rogers Communications, E.D. Smith & Sons Ltd. and Beau's All Natural Brewing Company.
Morley Hoppner was established in 1988 as a small, family-owned general contracting business that has evolved into a leading full-service real estate development and construction services firm with over 480 construction projects to its credit in the Ottawa area. LiquiForce, based in Kingsville, Ontario, is a leader in no-dig, trenchless pipe rehabilitation for clean water, wastewater and other pipeline systems. Halifax-based Cresco is an award-winning residential home builder with over 25 years of experience building state-of-the art homes and condos.
All three deserving family enterprises will be honoured at a spectacular gala held May 21, 2015 at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto. The gala will feature a special keynote presentation from Michael 'Pinball' Clemons of CFL fame.
