TOP INNOVATION AWARD 2010: DEMERS Mirage EX SPRINTER Ambulance
BELOEIL, QC, Nov. 2 /CNW Telbec/ - Demers Ambulances, one of North America's largest and oldest ambulance manufacturers and the Canadian leader, is proud to announce that its ambulance model Mirage EX Sprinter just received a 2010 Top Innovation Award from EMS World, the largest media group in the Emergency Medical Services Industry in North America.
"Only 6 months after its introduction in the market, the Mirage EX Sprinter received a 2010 Top Innovation Award from EMS World," says Alain Brunelle, President General Manager of Demers Ambulances. "It really shows all the passion, the dedication and the detailed attention all Demers employees are putting in their work. For 50 years, at Demers Ambulances, we have been quietly and passionately engineering ambulances with the kind of innovations that are changing the way we think about safety. The award we receive today confirms our approach; detail by detail, we are raising the bar, in an industry where every detail matters, every second counts, to save lives," adds Mr. Brunelle.
The Mirage EX Sprinter is a type II ambulance built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis. Very unique features, developed and engineered by Demers Ambulances, make this vehicle one of a kind: Demers-exclusive high-strength aluminum extrusion cabinet structure, the first heads-up console incorporated in the dashboard which allows the driver to keep his eyes on the road, and the aerodynamic front cab riser and rear spoiler with incorporated LED warning lights, unique in the industry.
Michael Pflueger, Director of Mercedes-Benz Vans in Canada is honored by this recognition: "The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has made its mark in several industries in the world and we have great success with this product." "Today, this award reinforces the fact that the Sprinter is the ideal platform for a type II ambulance and Demers Ambulances just proves it," adds Mr. Pflueger.
"We bought 10 Demers Mirage EX Sprinter. Two of them are in service and our paramedics and EMTs just love this winning ambulance. They can't wait to get the other ones!" say Mr. John Rapisarda, EMT Manager, Midwood Ambulance Service in New York.
