Tornado, heavy winds cause widespread power outages across Ottawa
OTTAWA, Sept. 21, 2018 /CNW/ - A devastating storm that caused a tornado, heavy winds and lightning across Ottawa has left about one third of Ottawa without power. Hydro Ottawa crews are working to restore power to 147,000 customers, primarily in the central and south areas of the city.

Our crews are working diligently to ensure public safety and restore power as soon as possible. Power will be restored initially to large scale outages, followed by smaller ones, keeping safety as the number one priority.
